Japanese Curry
English-style curry was first introduced into Japan. Since then, the Japanese have made many modifications to the basic recipe and developed a unique Japanese-style curry. The main differences from other curries are that Japanese curry is thickened with a roux (ready mix curry sauce) and is sweeter due to the addition of fruit such as apples.
Curry has since become a popular and beloved Japanese dish because of its convenience. It is commonly served in three main forms: Curry rice, Curry udon (thick noodles) and Curry bread. A wide variety of vegetables and meat are used when cooking curry. Onions, Carrots, Potatoes, Beef, Pork and Chicken are the common ones. In addition, the famous chicken cutlet with curry sauce is as popular.
